Rolling roadblocks have brought parts of the M4 to a standstill as protesters target motorways in a demonstration over high fuel prices.
The permanent 50mph limit with average speed enforcement between junctions 24 and 28 on the M4 around Newport will go live on Monday, March 15th.

(more…)The move affects the M4 in Port Talbot and Newport as well as other major roads in Wales, including the A470 Pontypridd, A483 Wrexham and A494 Deeside.
Figures released by Highways England show that an increasing number of people are driving to Wales, with the M4 Severn crossing seeing a rise in use of more than 10% since tolls were abolished in December 2018.
The new cameras, which are now in place on the approach to both bridges, are there to enforce the temporary speed limits on the narrow lanes which will be in place until work is finished next year.
