Motorsport Ireland Rally Academy member Kyle McBride got his Stellantis Motorsport Rally Cup IRE & UK season off to a flyer on the opening round – by taking the West Cork Rally Cup victory, 20th overall as well as top RC4 and top front-wheel-drive honours on the Clonakilty-based event.

McBride and co-driver Darragh Mullen took control of the Cup leaderboard on the second test and were never headed, taking their Peugeot 208 Rally4 to victory in what would be a significantly shortened event. Ioan Lloyd and Sion Williams secured second place with a consistent run whilst Matthew Boyle and Gary Byrne rounded out the podium positions.

The Stellantis Motorsport Rally Cup IRE & UK returns to the UK this weekend, heading for the Scottish forests and the Voyonic Grampian Forest Rally [August 9-10] as the second half of the season begins.
Kyle McBride secured his first Stellantis Motorsport Rally Cup IRE & UK victory of the season at the weekend, by taking victory at the Wilton Recycling Donegal International Rally.
After a pulsating contest in the Irish lanes of West Cork, the Stellantis Motorsport Rally Cup IRE & UK returns next week [Saturday April 13] with its first gravel event, the Severn Valley Stages.
