Vauxhall Reveals First Images of Mokka GSE Rally Ahead of 2026 Season

Vauxhall has revealed the first images of the new Mokka GSE Rally in its competition livery ahead of the opening round of the 2026 ADAC GSE Rally Cup in Eindhoven, Netherlands.

Marking a new chapter for Vauxhall in motorsport, the Mokka GSE Rally replaces the Corsa Rally Electric in the world’s first electric one-make rally cup. Closely related to the roadgoing Mokka GSE, the competition car shares key components, including the motor, inverter, battery, and wiring harness. It delivers up to 281PS and 345Nm of torque, more than twice as much power as its predecessor, and will offer comparable performance to a Rally4 car.

The Mokka GSE Rally features a bold new competition livery with contrasting yellow detailing, black bodywork and prominent GSE branding. The design also incorporates the Union flag, celebrating Vauxhall’s return to motorsport and its British motorsport pedigree, which includes the British Rally Championship-winning Chevette HS/R and multiple driver and manufacturer titles in the British Touring Car Championship.

Alongside the introduction of the new competition car, the 2026 season also introduces an updated charging infrastructure. Instead of tapping into green electricity from the public grid, battery storage systems are being used this season with electric trucks placing these exactly where they are needed. This makes it possible to charge at different locations between the special stages and thus guarantees even more competition miles for the participants.

British driver loan Lloyd and co-driver Sion Williams will join the championship grid for the first time this season, competing against drivers and teams from across Europe. The series aims to promote young rallying talent, with the championship winner claiming a works drive in the Junior European Rally Championship (ERC) behind the wheel of a Corsa Rally4 – a unique opportunity in the rally world.

The 2026 ADAC GSE Rally Cup season will feature seven rounds across six European countries, including events in Germany, Austria, the Netherlands, Belgium, France, and Italy. One of the highlights of the calendar will see the Mokka GSE Rally compete at the traditional Sanremo Rally in October.

Drivers and teams from nine nations will compete for points when the season starts at the ELE Rally around Eindhoven, Netherlands, on 29th and 30th May. The start will take place on Friday at 18:43 CEST, with the competition continuing until shortly before midnight. The rally will resume on Saturday from 12.38 CEST, and the finish line will be reached at around 23:00 CEST. The participants will cover a total distance of 81 miles across 12 special stages.

Ioan Lloyd, Vauxhall GSE Rally Driver, said: “I’m really looking forward to getting behind the wheel of the Mokka GSE Rally in competition. The livery looks fantastic and is sure to make the car unmissable out on the stages. It will be a proud moment for me to officially mark Vauxhall’s return to motorsport when I drive over the start ramp at the ELE Rally. It’s set to be a really competitive season, and I can’t wait to see what we can do.”

Jörg Schrott, Head of Opel-Vauxhall Motorsport, said: “The 2026 ADAC GSE Rally Cup will set new standards in electric rallying with the introduction of the Mokka GSE Rally. With more than twice the power of its predecessor, it raises performance to a new level and will deliver an even more exciting competition across Europe. With a new charging infrastructure, an attractive calendar and a strong international field of young drivers, the championship continues to demonstrate the capability of electric motorsport. We are looking forward to a highly competitive season.”
