The Vauxhall Mokka-e has won the Erin Baker Award at the sixth annual Auto Trader New Car Awards 2022.

The prize, awarded by Auto Trader’s Editorial Director, Erin Baker, is in its second year and is given to vehicles that combine strong sustainability credentials with excellent design.

Erin Baker, Editorial Director at Auto Trader, said: “The Vauxhall Mokka-e, with its sharp, sporty looks, a whole range of vibrant colours, a decent touchscreen and a genuinely usable electric range ticks every box for me this year. It’s the best all-rounder, a huge well done to Vauxhall!”

The Mokka-e features Vauxhall’s bold and pure design language, including the new Vizor front end that contains a single, smooth panel that houses the front LED lights, Vauxhall’s new Griffin logo as well as radar and sensor technology. Inside, the new Pure Panel interior offers drivers and passengers an intuitive and connected environment with digital touchscreens and instrument displays.

Powered by a 50kWh battery and 100kW (136hp) electric motor, the Mokka-e can achieve up to 209 miles (WLTP) between charges. Supporting up to 100kW rapid charging, an 80% charge takes just 30 minutes to complete.

Paul Willcox, Managing Director, Vauxhall, said: “The Mokka-e continues to impress both customers and industry experts. The Mokka and Mokka-e were the first Vauxhall models to showcase our new design language, and are an example of where Vauxhall is heading as a brand. By 2024, we will offer an electrified variant across our entire model line-up, before becoming an electric-only brand by 2028.”

The Erin Baker Award was announced as part of the Auto Trader New Car Awards 2022 that took place in London on Thursday 9th June.
