Vauxhall is the leading electric car brand year-to-date across retail and Motability channels combined, according to the latest new vehicle registration figures published today by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT).
This success is reflected across the passenger car range. The continued popularity of the Corsa Electric and Mokka Electric means Vauxhall is the leading brand for electric sales in the combined B-segment, with 7,449 sold year-to-date. The Corsa Electric was also the UK’s best-selling electric supermini in August and leads the segment year-to-date, with 2,824 sold so far in 2024. This contributed to Vauxhall achieving an electric car sales mix of 28.7% in August.
Vauxhall’s van range also continues to perform strongly, with the brand second both in the overall LCV market and the electric van market year-to-date.
James Taylor, Managing Director, Vauxhall, said: “Vauxhall is committed to democratising access to electric vehicles and will offer a fully electric version of every model in our line-up by the end of this year. We are already the leading electric car brand among retail and Motability customers, with both the Corsa Electric and Mokka Electric continuing to prove popular with customers. With the launch of the New Frontera, we are also the first manufacturer to offer electric and petrol hybrid versions of the same car for an identical list price – another important step in our mission to make electric mobility accessible for all.”
