Vauxhall’s first of many new crossovers officially has a price tag. Crossland X will start at £16,555.
The Crossland X is one of two new crossovers born from a previous General Motors and PSA Groupe alliance. That alliance largely fell through, but in turn, General Motors sold both Vauxhall and Opel to the French automaker for $2.3 billion earlier this year. Both brands remain under GM until the deal is officially finalized, however.
The Crossland X features diesel and gasoline engines paired to either a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic gearbox. Power from the most efficient unit sits at 79 horsepower, while the most powerful gasoline engine achieves 128 hp.
The Crossland X replaces the aged Meriva MPV, though the new crossover still retains a few MPV attributes. For example, the second row of seats uses a sliding mechanism for easy access and usability. However, there’s no denying the Crossland X is a much more attractive package.
The first Crossland X deliveries will take place this summer. Following the Crossland X will be the Grandland X later this year.
