Vauxhall is the leading electric car brand so far this year across retail and Motability channels combined, according to the latest new vehicle registration figures published today by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT).

This success is reflected across the passenger car range. The continued popularity of the Corsa Electric and Mokka Electric means Vauxhall is the leading brand for electric sales in the combined B-segment, with 9,358 sold year-to-date. The Corsa Electric was also the UK’s best-selling electric supermini in September and leads the segment year-to-date, with 3,774 sold so far in 2024. This contributed to Vauxhall achieving an electric car sales mix of 25.2% in September.

Vauxhall’s van range also continues to perform strongly, with the brand second in the electric LCV market year-to-date and third in the overall LCV market.

James Taylor, Managing Director, Vauxhall, said: “As the leading electric car brand among retail and Motability customers, the Corsa Electric and Mokka Electric continue to resonate with drivers across the UK. Our new pricing structure for the Corsa Electric and Astra Electric, alongside the introduction of models like the New Frontera – the first car to achieve electric and internal combustion engine price parity in the UK market – makes going electric even more affordable. Vauxhall is dedicated to making electric mobility accessible to all, with a fully electric version of every model in our line-up available by the end of the year.”
