The very first episode of Top Gear’s Series 25 will include the three hosts taking on Ken Block in a V8 police chase that’s supposed to hark back to the days when privateers illegally produced alcohol, aka moonshine.

For this challenge, each host had to pick a V8-powered car. Chris Harris went with a McLaren 570GT, Rory Reid with a Jaguar F-Type SVR and Matt LeBlanc with a Mustang GT350R. Their opponent, who plays the role of a police officer chasing the three “outlaws”, is professional rally driver Ken Block, who is driving his Can-Am Maverick X3.

Aside from this chase, Series 25 of Top Gear will also feature a review of an old Citroen 2CV, some track time at Willow Springs with a Chevy Camaro ZL1 1LE and loads more.

In fact, during last month’s Series 25 trailer, we saw the three hosts take turns at reviewing all sorts of new cars, from the Mercedes-AMG E63 to the Kia Stinger, Alfa Romeo Stelvio, Lexus LC and Honda Civic Type-R.

Tune in to BBC Two at 8pm to see the new series’ first episode.
