Less than a month before the latest series of Fifth Gear returns to TV screens, Tiff Needell has made a shock announcement.

After 17 years of involvement with the motoring show, Needell has confirmed that he will no longer be part of it.

His revelation on social media suggested that the decision had been taken by executives at Discovery rather than by him.

While Needell will longer be part of Fifth Gear, it’s new season will air on Quest TV starting October 3rd. It will star Jason Plato, Vicki Butler-Henderson, Karun Chandhok, Jimmy de Ville and Jonny Smith.

Little is known about the revamped series, but a teaser video shows it will feature an assortment of different vehicles including the Audi TT, BMW Z4, Mazda3, Tesla Model 3 and Suzuki Jimny. We can also catch a glimpse of a Porsche 911, Ford GT and Lexus UX. There will also be a handful of classic models including the Audi UR Quattro, Jaguar XJ220 and Volkswagen Golf R32.
