The move leaves the firm’s best-selling hatchback with existing petrol options, as well as a fully electric powertrain in the Corsa-e. This announcement also ends a 35-year run of diesel-powered Corsa models.
The Vauxhall Corsa has taken over as the UK’s best-selling new car, with 40,914 sold in 2021. The popular supermini outsold every other model in the UK last year, in figures published today by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT).
The Corsa has been the UK’s best-selling car in eight of the last 12 months, including June, July, September and November last year. It’s also been number one every month so far this year.
Vauxhall is offering new Corsa-e customers a free Home Charging Unit and 30,000 miles of free electricity for a limited time only, in partnership with British Gas.
Vauxhall’s all-new Corsa-e made its very first visit to the UK last month to demonstrate its usability, practicality and accessibility to a range of potential buyers.
