(more…)Northamptonshire Police has started rolling out what it calls ‘unmarked mobile enforcement vehicles’ across the county. The force says it is being done in a bid to reduce the number of people killed or seriously injured on its roads. There were 44 deaths there in 2022.
A survey of 2,000 motorists by road safety charity IAM RoadSmart found that 89% would be in favour of using existing technology to catch drivers flouting the law.

New figures have revealed a speed camera in Southampton, caught 51,049 drivers between 2015 and 2017.
A businessman who attached a “jammer” to his BMW to dodge speed cameras has been jailed.
The new cameras, which are now in place on the approach to both bridges, are there to enforce the temporary speed limits on the narrow lanes which will be in place until work is finished next year.
