There are queues of up to 13 miles on the M4 this morning due to a serious accident.

Two lanes have been shut on the eastbound carriageway after the accident took place at 4.15am on the exit slip road near junction 28 for A48/A467 Forge Road.

There is congestion to junction 33 for the A470/A4054 for the Coryton Interchange and on the A48 Eastern Avenue to A4232 at Pontprennau.

There are queues of up to 13 miles at present, and motorists are being warned that the travel time along the affected area is likely to be at least two hours.

Lanes one and two are shut, and motorists are being warned that restrictions are likely to be in place all morning.

The site of the accident at J28 is currently cordoned off behind steel fencing.

Anyone driving from Swansea is advised to leave the M4 at J43 and use the A465, A40 and A449 to J24.
