Vauxhall will be hosting a very special automotive guest this weekend, as Jason Plato’s BTCC Astra race car joins the ‘Astra at 40’ display for Sunday’s Heritage Centre Open Day.

Power Maxed Racing kindly offered to bring the Astra, when they heard about the Heritage Centre Open Day and its tribute to seven generations of one of the UK’s most popular cars.

Plato’s Astra is three rounds into this year’s BTCC, with the flamboyant driver currently lying 10th in the Drivers’ Championship. With just two weeks to go before its next outing at Croft Circuit, this will be a rare opportunity to get up close and personal with one of this year’s most competitive tin-top racers.

Vauxhall Heritage Centre Open Day is free to enter, and as well as the Collection vehicles, a variety of Vauxhall clubs will be displaying their members’ cars and vans. There will also be catering facilities, a chance for kids to try their hand at being a racing star in a video-equipped BTCC Vectra, a full line-up of Vauxhall’s modern vehicle range, and memorabilia and merchandise to see and buy.

The event opens between 10am-4pm on Sunday, June 9 and is held at Vauxhall Heritage Centre, Park Street, LUTON LU1 3HG
