Matt LeBlanc has revealed that he is eager for the second season of the re-born Top Gear to start even though its future is still up in the air.

The BBC has confirmed that the show will return next year for its 24th season, but following the dramatic departure of lead host Chris Evans, the broadcaster has yet to reveal when filming will commence and what changes will be adopted for future seasons.

While Evans was criticized for his role on the world’s largest motoring show, LeBlanc was largely welcomed by fans and the press with his laid back presenting style and natural love of cars shinning through.

As the BBC has confirmed it won’t replace Evans with another presenter, it seems likely that LeBlanc will fill the role as lead host but could be joined by one of the other hosts sporting a prominent role.

While speaking in LA recently however, the former Friends star said “There’s nothing officially happening yet. Follow the BBC.”

Last month it was reported that the BBC was considering promoting two of the ‘junior’ presenters to larger roles, potentially Chris Harris and Rory Reid, while also looking for a new series producer.
