Holden Special Vehicles (HSV), the tuning arm of GM’s operations Down Under, is set for an overhaul and that includes an entirely new name to Walkinshaw.

Car Advice claims to have received word from three dealerships about the name change as Holden embarks on a brave new future following the demise of the locally-built Cars.

It is reported that HSV parent company Premoso Pty Ltd believes the rebranding is needed for the company to continue working its magic on Holden vehicles. The first Walkinshaw-tuned vehicle after the name change could come in the form of a souped-up Holden Colorado.

Beyond the new name allowing it to expand its portfolio of Holden-badged vehicles, sources indicate that Walkinshaw may also start importing General Motors products from overseas, potentially including the Corvette and Camaro, hugely welcome news to Australian car lovers.
