The award-winning Vauxhall Corsa remains the UK’s best-selling new car, according to the latest new car registration figures from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT).
With 4,399 units sold in May, the Corsa was the best-selling B-segment car in the UK and remains the country’s best-selling car year-to-date with 17,198 registrations so far in 2022.
The all-electric Corsa-e was also the best-selling electric supermini in May, with 581 registrations. Vauxhall sold 7,894 cars in May across fleet and private buyers.
Paul Willcox, Managing Director, Vauxhall, said: “The Corsa and Corsa-e are continuing their success from last year, and I’m pleased to see the Corsa remain the country’s best-selling new car. Despite ongoing challenges for the industry, the first five months have seen Vauxhall remain a firm favourite with UK buyers. Another of the nation’s favourite cars, the All-New Astra is arriving in the coming weeks, bringing yet more attainable design, innovation and choice of electrification to car buyers.”
The Vauxhall Corsa is available with efficient petrol and diesel engines as well as with a fully
electric powertrain. The Corsa-e is powered by a 50kWh battery and a 136PS (100kW)
electric motor and is capable of up to 222 miles (WLTP test cycle) from a single charge.
Capable of supporting up to 100kW rapid charging, an 80% charge takes just 30 minutes to
complete.

Online Store. The Vauxhall Online Store brings the brand’s showroom experience straight
into the comfort of buyers’ homes. Customers can arrange a live video viewing of their
vehicle via the Vauxhall Virtual Showroom and proceed to the Online Store to configure
their vehicle, personalise finance payments, and place an order, all from the comfort of their
home.
